A walk in the woods

I think it may be safely said that my new boots are starting to break in. I took a three-mile hike along the Columnes River nature trail today–longer than I really should’ve gone, but it was quite satisfying. Much of it was shaded woodland like this, and it’s incredibly gorgeous and awash with flora and fauna.

I needed an attitude readjustment, and I got it. :)

Sounds fabulous. Green things! We have a few things just starting to green up from the winter, but it’ll be awhile before it looks like that up here. :)

Yeah, but by the time you get your nice green stuff, we’ll be sun-baked and orange. :)
