Quailing

Quail

I love California quail. They have silly little bobbly things on their heads and they suffer from group-mind, except for one. There’s always one who, after the group of quail has moved as one, often requiring an emergency stop to avoid committing quail flockicide, decides to go in the other direction. It doesn’t matter whether you’re on a bike, in a car, or on foot. There’s always one. And then others will follow the independent one and you’ll have this wave of quail going in both directions and if you haven’t already stopped you have to, because you’re laughing so much.
