A point of historical interest

Filed in Blog, Daily Image
Church door

On January 1st I rode through Lockeford for the first time, and I’ve gone through it at least three times since. Today, I stopped. I had also done some homework, and discovered that the “point of historical interest” sign wasn’t actually pointing at a building, but at the next lane over. I traversed said lane for several miles before finding the POHI–the first protestant church in this area. A lovely little brick building it was, with a peaceful, shady pioneer cemetery attached–a cemetery that is lovingly kept and obviously still in use.
