I bought a new book
Filed in Blog, Daily Image
This is the first book I’ve bought for myself in months. When I was in the museum I picked up a walking tour brochure. (Too often I walk around and then discover the walking tour, which would have made my life easier; this time was no exception.)
I also noticed that many of the buildings in Weaverville had little numbered placards.
It turns out that said numbering corresponds to the numbering in the book. Some while ago the government gave the county a $10,000 grant to inventory its historic resources. The government only wanted to know about sites that still existed, but the county inventoried everything and this book is the result.
I’m going to have fun tracking down these sites. There are almost 500 of them! And as a bonus the lady in the museum gave me the name of a couple of local bikers who know about the biker scene around here. :)
