44/49 Cheese
Filed in BlogJust had a nice slab of cheese. I’m rather fond of the stuff and it makes a pleasing snack.
It would appear that I hit the wall earlier and am on a fresh layer of energy. Who knew?
We’re having mac and cheese for dinner, because thinking during its preparation is not actually required.

Mac and cheese can be surprisingly dangerous though. Back in 6th grade I was making some for myself, and dropped the whole pot of boiling noodles on my arm. That hurt for quite awhile.

I think I’ll be finishing up the last bit of the batch waiting for me in the fridge (along with a hotdog–think I’ll watch Carnivale, just to be obstinately appropriate). Just have to get the boy into bed, and the rest of the evening is mine.

Mmmmm.
Cheese!
One summer I was staying with my Dad. His stove wasn’t working and I *really* wanted macaroni and cheese.
So I put the water through his coffeemaker ~ and because he didn’t have pots or pans that I’d been allowed to use ~ I put the noodles into the carafe and let them sit in the water until they were “cooked”.
I then drained the noodles and mixed them with the powder, margerine and milk.
Dad had been surprised to find hardened noodles in his coffee pot carafe the next morning. He’d only realized their presence when he went to drink his morning coffee and found re-plumped macaroni noodles swimming in his cup…
Dad wasn’t thrilled.

If you’re still naked from earlier, you should really put at least an apron on.
I burnt myself, once, in a special place, while trying to do laundry, shower, and make mac & cheese at once. Not a good multi-tasking choice….
