25/49 Cut grass
Filed in BlogAlso from asterapallas: What did we do in summer as kids?
There’d always be a summer vacation of some kind–often Slovenia, for 2-3 weeks. Sometimes Scotland, Cornwall instead.
I have these recollections of lying around doing not much of anything, or of reading, of long peaceful days and the smell of cut grass. There were no big traditions or special things that we did, just playing with friends and being lazy.

We’d spend time in the woods and at my grandparents’ (they had a pool), as well as with cousins. And, always, the beach for a week. Ahh….

There’d usually be at least one day trip to the coast (nowhere in the UK is more than a day trip away from the coast!)

Yeah, but then you’d have to put up with steak and kidney pudding and Bovril and other exciting British foodstuffs. ;)
