Filed in BlogAmazon.com has a nut-job promotion on right now: “Avoid wrap rage.” Have them wrap it for you. I just don’t envisage people stopping in the streets to attack each other with rolls of gift wrap, you know? Sure, I hate wrapping gifts — it’s the way the sticky tape rips the paper and sticks to my forehead and always ends up with cat hair in it — but I wouldn’t pay somebody to do it for me.
I did my Christmas shopping on Wednesday. It turned out to be a nice, leisurely stroll around a sleepy Redding in which nobody much was around. Admittedly it’s not full-on Season yet, but I had a bit of fun looking around the stuff I wouldn’t buy even if I could afford it. I caught a ride in with Kerry, and had lunch at Red Robin, where I’d never been before. She did her thing and I did my thing and we went back together at the duly appointed time.
I’ve had several long, intense programming days; I set up a new forum at Markeroni for “public” betas (public in quotes because you still have to be a member). The last day or two I’ve been combing through for glitches and I think I’ll be ready to let people loose on the beta of logging landmarks and adding stuff to the Catalog. My goal is to finish My Markeroni by the end of November, and at least the parts of Community pertaining to displaying landmarks by the end of the year.
The rain stopped and we had an Indian summer, even t-shirt weather. Last night a bunch of us got together for a gather and as a result we are now invited to two Thanksgiving celebrations, one on Thanksgiving and one the day after. ;)

I can’t believe the year is about to end… Went by so fast.

I know. It’s scary…when you’re a kid a year seems like it’s forever, and the older you get the more it flies.
Gotta make it count more.
