Happy Groundhog Day!

It’s been a week of singularly bad weather, with only one full day of sunshine, I think. The gusts are 30mph and the RV is shaking. I’m sick of the bad weather, of the endless monotony of rain and wind. Trips out have been in the form of errand runs. We now have a post office box for our home mail, so we can finally unravel from Sunnyvale and have the mail forwarded here properly.

To celebrate a new month Don and I are playing with a new system of budgeting; I’m hoping that if we get off on a road trip, I can catch up with my accounting, too. With the whole JR thing, our money has taken quite the battering and besides, the less we spend the less we have to earn. ;)

This week seems to have been a money-like theme as I also announced a challenge for Markeroni which was put out by one of the members, to raise enough money to carry the site through 2008. With that done, we can start tithing out the profits to preservation non-profits, which is one of the things that Markeroni really needs to do. And I made a quick run out to Stockton to file some business paperwork.

I’ve also started the A Complaint Free World project, of which more in due course.

Much of the week was still spent in programming. I’m sick of that, though today’s session was fun. As of this afternoon, I finally got the new version of the Catalog up and running. It’s not perfect by a long way, but it’s better than what was there before and I’ll finesse it a little bit each week. I have a list of refinements and they will be dealt with, one at a time.

I started messing with Twitter and find it oddly interesting. I’m whiteraven13 over there. If I do go on a road trip (see below) I might post a few updates via Twitter.

We’re hoping to take a few days out and go on a short road trip as of tomorrow, and we don’t expect to be online much, if at all. That will probably prove to be a good thing, allowing me to catch up on non-internet work like accounting, filling out forms, and shredding papers.

This week we got into watching the birds, and I bought a bird feeder that is supposed to sucker on to the window. Haven’t tried it out yet. The cats think it’s TV. ;)

Oh, and Don got stats working for my websites. The traffic brought in from one single Stumble of my article about paid posting and Google was startling. It would be nice to have some more of that. ;)
