Filed in BlogIt’s been a full week, and part of it was used in reading until my brains boiled out. You see, on Wednesday I went around town and took care of a big bunch of errands. Joining the library was wonderful and I spent until 3am Thursday and 2am Friday reading Infidel which has of course totally messed up my body clock. But I haven’t been as enthralled by a book in a long time. (Yes, yes, a review is coming.)
The last little loose ends of my next article are tied up and it should be coming out next month. At this stage I can now tell you that the article is about historical markers and will appear in the March/April edition of Nevada Magazine.
On Sunday I went to a cat show and met Piggy and his wife Jay–Jay for the first time, Piggy for the first time in nearly a decade. Piggy has known me since my first domain, and I think we met because of our mutual Virago 535s (motorcycles, for the uninitiated). And yesterday I had a great snarfari with AmberLee; first we attended a Geocaching gather and then ran amok with our mascots and cameras in Old Sacramento. I walked there and my jaw dropped open at all the historical goodness in front of me.
I’m very pleased with myself that I took the time to log all my snarfs yesterday, but I haven’t written it up yet. I will. I am now up to 1300 snarfs and have three orange stars instead of the three red ones. I think I’m finally going to meet that goal of getting caught up on my logging. Meanwhile, I’ve finally figured out how I want to manage tags and categories at Markeroni–essentially, just like a blog–and have written down the steps I need to take to achieve that. I think I can do it in the next week.
I seem to have gotten my blogging and schmoozing groove back, too. I’m toying with the idea of a big contest giveaway “event” on the Raven Blogs, probably around March. Would anyone be interested in donating prizes, along with suitable links/sales spiels? Mind you, given how much success I’ve had with my January book giveaway, maybe I shouldn’t run contests at all. ;) Surely someone would like these books?
I so need to learn how to hype. ;)
There was some rain this week but nothing like last week’s shenanigans. Now, we have stuff like Actual Sunshine promised. We’ll see, but I think next week I will need to make it to the Bay Area to pick up my mail. Again. I’m on the waiting list for a real post office box now so I hope that before much longer I’ll be able to just add a forwarding address and quit needing to do that.
I guess that’s about it. I mean, we went to the storage shed and dug out some more stuff, and at this rate we will empty it by moving everything into the RV, which will then cease to be able to move at all. ;)
